Crickett

I recently came home one day with a pounding headache. Our dogs, Winston (a pug) and Crickett (Crickett is a not actually our dog, she is a cocker-spaniel foster dog from the Winnipeg Humane Society that we are taking care of for a couple months.) greeted me at the door, tails wagging like crazy. Even though Wisnton is 1 he still acts like a puppy sometimes. Needless to say, that when he grabbed a toy a wanted to play, I walked past him on the way to lie down. Squeak, squeak, squeak went the toy. (We do own a lot of noisy dogs toys. Not the best when you have a headache or are hard at work.) I have a hard time trying to get some rest. Doesn't "GO AWAY" mean anything to a dog??

Crickett is more humble and somewhat calm and can be a great dog to just lay with you on your bed without making much of a sound. Because of this, I called her into the room and onto the bed. I took Winston's toy and threw it down the hall and closed the door as he chased after it. Finally silence.

Soon after though I had to get up to grab more painkillers. On my return to the bedroom, there was Crickett, curled up in the warm spot on the bed I had created earlier. I layed down beside her and tugged at the blanket underneath her to get enough to cover myself. Crickett already half asleep at this point, didn't even move after being disrupted. Don't you just wish sometimes you could have the life of a dog?

As mentioned Crickett is a foster dog from the Winnipeg Humane Society. Typically the WHS will foster out cats, dogs, kittens, and puppies when they aren't fit for adoption yet. Sometimes these are animals that have been injured or have an illness. Crickett will be going back next month so that they can find her a great home. I am sure that it won't take long. Any readers who want more information or know someone who may want more information about her can send me an E-MAIL and I will answer whatever I can about this great dog!

This is Winston and one of his many "noisy toys". (I got him for Janel for Christmas of 2007.)

Flood!

I know that I have been a bad blogger lately, and I haven't been making many posts! It has been a busy month or two and I have been trying to keep up to date with work, as well as reading a lot of books! It seems as though this winter is dragging on, and I can't wait for spring and summer. Actually, there was a moment a couple weeks ago where I could actually smell spring, but then WHOMPF! Snow, snow and more snow!

The day before it snowed, the creek that runs underneath our street overflowed and started flowing across like a small river. It actually ran over the banks and into neighbouring yards as well! Yikes! Thankfully though I found out later that the houses nearby only got a few drops of water in their basements. That makes me feel better about posting some pics for yuo to see. Check them out!

Coldplay!

I am super stoked for Coldplay coming to Winnipeg! I was able to score tickets this morning! I was utterly dissapointed when they cancelled their first concert anouncement last year, which makes this even more awesome. Now I not only can I not wait until the summer wedding season, I am also now lookign forward to an extremely awesome concert!

New website launched!

Last night my new fully optimized website went live for the first time! I am very excited for this stage in my photography career as I now feel the information available for my potential clients will help make their decisions a lot easier.

I have given all I could to the content of the site, and being my biggest critic, I am thrilled with the result of what the hard work turned into so far.

The biggest thing is that changes and updates will be so much easier and my clients will now have direct access to viewing their images. This is going to be AWESOME....

Karen & Sean: Engaged

I met Karen & Sean last year. From our first meeting I knew that they were a great couple. They are so outgoing! Even though their engagement session was on a pretty cold Sunday afternoon, they braved it very well, and I took advantage! Karen and Sean have such great personalities and they made me feel like a friend.

Thanks guys for a great afternoon, I am already looking forward to your wedding this summer. It is going to be awesome working with you again!

Natasha & Jared

On one of the mildest days of the year so far, I had the great privilege of shooting Natasha and Jared's wedding. Doing their engagement session last summer was a lot of fun and I knew I would have the same great time with them for the wedding.

Natasha & Jared, thanks for making me part of your special day!

Here are a few of my favorites:

The wedding party put together a terrific slideshow of Natasha and Jared and put it up for all the guests to see at the reception. It was done using a program called Animoto which I found pretty cool so I decided to use it to make a slideshow from their wedding shots. Check it out below!

New Website Coming Soon!

If you have been trying to get to my website in the past couple weeks you may have noticed that it is currently under construction. That’s because, very soon I will be able to announce the launch of my new website!

You’re going to see a lot of changes, all which are going to be awesome! There will be more galleries (which will be constantly updated), more photography information and my personal favorite: a new client proofing section. Clients will use a password to access their own personal and will be able to view the images from their wedding day or session in the quickest and most convenient way possible! This will be a great way for clients to show off their images to family and friends by simply providing the password.

I can’t wait for the launch. Stay in close touch as it won’t be very much longer!
