Amanda and Patrick Say "I Do"
My blog has been neglected as of late, I admit. 2010 started off a busy year. I had been developing and putting together some new products for my clients, and working on some marketing ideas. I also had the opportunity to help out my friend Kelly at a recent wedding she shot. It was a great experience, and I look forward to helping out other photographers whenever I can!
Also, I will be launching out a new blog in the coming weeks. It's going to be bigger and better, so stay tuned for that.
Now onto Amanda & Patrick. They were my first wedding of the year.
Amanda and Patrick are a great couple. They are so natural and easy going. I knew that right from them time when we did the engagement shoot last year. The way they are around each other gives off such a relaxing vibe, it is comforting. They'll be good parents for sure.
They had their ceremony at The Millennium Centre. They also had the time booked for most of their indoor shots as well. The Millennium Centre is an old converted bank from way way back in the day. It is big and has a wide variety of different places that can be accessed. The rooms are almost all original and have various different looks to them. Plus the main "hall" is huge and has great architecture. I highly recommend checking it out.
Of course, Amanda is a hige fan of Starbuck's, so our day wasn't complete until we did some shots there too. The coffee was delicious!
Thanks you two for the fun day and hope you enjoyed your honeymoon!
Enjoy the images and the slideshow at the end!

Remembering 2009...
It is impossible to describe how well 2009 went. I learnt a lot about myself as a person, as a photographer, and as a business owner. In the end the truest satisfaction is hearing how happy my couples are, and knowing that the relationship is not over! I hope to see you all at one time or another in the future, whether it be just to touch base or for any other sessions (babies, families, parties etc.)
Thanks to Showit Web, which I am happy to be using now for my slideshows, I have put together a small sampling of just some of the great stuff captured in 2009.
All the best in 2010!

Baby William
If you remember Alanna, my sister-in-law, a little while ago, the bun was pretty much ready to come out of the oven. She has since given birth to baby boy number two, little William John.
I love babies. They are so innocent and soft. I wish I knew how to hold them though. At least so they don't cry. But I know that will come with practice!
Here are some great baby shots I got on a recent visit to their place shortly after he was born.
Thanks William for putting up with the bright lights while you were trying to sleep. You did good, kid.

What Do Needles, Gum and Starbuck's Have in Common?
In Seattle you haven't had enough coffee until you can thread a sewing machine while it is running. Sure Seattle has great coffee, but Janel doesn't like coffee too much so here I was wired for both of us.
We took a few days in Seattle a few weeks back and enjoyed going to yet another destination on our "roads less travelled" map. It was cool (literally), and windy, but luckily no rain. Thanks for that since we walked mostly everwhere, except where the free transit could take us.
Seattle's downtown area is a lot like San Francisco: full of hills and trendy spots. The difference is two things, a Starbuck's on every corner (home of the first ever), and plenty of Mom & Pop shops, including the old fashioned Pike Place Market right on the harbourfront.
You can tackle a majority of the city's sights in about 3 days, and pretty much everything is close by. Make sure you mark your territory on the famous "Wall of Gum". I suggest a nice bright color too. Before you leave though, I also suggest hitting up a seafood shack or oyster bar.
Thank's Ivar's for the best 75 cent bowl of clam chowder I have ever tasted! Mmmmmm.....

The Wedding Styles of Amanda and Jason
2010 is quickly developing into another superbulous year. And I mean superbulous with a capital “S”. Not only weddings, but there tons more on the horizon. I wish I could showcase it ALL right now! I am going to have new things aplenty to show my clients in 2010. If your interested in becoming one, email me and we’ll make it happen.
Amanda and Jason’s wedding day came and conquered. I am glad I had the opportunity to partake in it all. From the moment I arrived at Amanda’s parent’s house, there was no stopping. We took advantage of every moment we had to get some great shots. I felt it was only fitting that we head to the Exchange for a few as well just fill up those last few free minutes.
Wherever we went, the two of them look so relaxed and pumped to be in front of the lens. I felt they really got comfortable during our engagement shoot, and this day just fed right off that. I don’t know what it is but they got a certain style that emits a cool and confident aura that feeds off to others around them. That rocks.
Thanks guys for letting me take part in all the fun! Hope to see pictures from the honeymoon!

Wendy, Jesse and the Horses
Happy Friday everyone. Another mild week has gone by and I love every minute of the weather. Winter can stay away right up until Christmas. That would be perfect. Then it can snow (not too much too soon though!) and stay similarly cool out, but not -40 please. That’s what I will look forward to.
Wrapping up another engagement session recently, I present to you Wendy and Jesse. Wendy is a colleague of mine and when I heard about her engagement earlier this year, I jumped at the opportunity to shoot their wedding.
Since Jesse’s parents live on a farm, we figured it would be a great location to do their session. What an idea! They looked right at home too. It’s always great to shoot people in a setting like this that captures their personalities and interests. These images make themselves.
I can wait for the wedding next summer, and you can bet their will be more of the same. I can’t wait to see the barn!
